Ordering from sites

From those of you who order from newegg and tigerdirect, how often do you see price changes on their sites for the same object? For instance I am looking to buy a certain monitor but I want to buy it for as cheap as I can.

The question I have is say the price is $230 today, could I possible see a price change in a day, week, month? Please let me know. I appreciate any positive responses.

thx

It depends on the individual vendor as well as any rebate offers that come along. They usually drop the price down when they want to see more of one item or another sell faster rather then lingering around. For the lowest price on any one thing you have to search around since occasionally you can spot deal elsewhere.

Can you name a few good sites that I might not know about, please?

Tigerdirect changes their prices all the time. Just about every weekend they have special sales on a couple items with like mail in rebates and such. In fact last week, they were selling a Logitech z-5500 setup for $180 plus a $40 mail in rebate. If you know about that system then you know that that is dang cheap.

It mainly depends on where you can order from. Tiger ships to Canada while newegg doesn't. For those in the US newegg usually sees far better prices then either TigerDirect or mwave while mwave stands well with their customers.

I've heard complaints on and off about some others however. Amazon will generally list the better places as well as the shopping sites when you go to price shop around for any specific item. You do kind of end up getting this here, that over there, and this along with that somewhere else if you look hard enough.

I disagree!! Tiger has very competitive prices just like newegg. Tiger has faster shipping that is why i bought my card through them. Tiger and Newegg have the same price for my card.

Tiger has great deals, but I have noticed Newegg is cheaper in both products and shipping. Tiger charges WAYYYY to much for shipping. I don't know hardly ANYTHING about Newegg though because I have never ordered from them; just browsed.

Often newegg offers free shipping on a larger number of items. You won't see that at TigerDirect while newegg will absorb shipping costs at times. For the most part newegg is cheaper then TigerDirect when siimply going to prcie shop on a particular item as well as what is seen in general. mwave also sees lower prices then Tiger at times while not carrying as much inventory.

I have seen prices fluctuate considerably on newegg. Not too sure about monitors but computer cases can change prices in as less as 3 days.Other components are not nearly as bad though.

When first putting this build together the cpu used was seeing $229.99 when ordered at newegg. A week later it was $169.99 where it has remained since. I did catch a good sale on the Antec 900 model case FRYS had for $89.99 while newegg continued to still see the $140 retail for some time until finally dropping down to the $119.99 now seen.
