1.) For about the same price you can get a SATAII drive, I would highly recommend it.

2.) That power supply is not powerful enough for your system, deffinetly get a different one. (for those who are to lazy to check, it's only a 20-Pin connector with only one +12V rail, which is running at 24A). You need a 24-Pin connector for your motherboard.

3.) Did you check to make sure that the cables you have are long enough for a full-size case? A common problem is that cables wont reach , and later hey need to purchase longer ones after they start building it.

Seagate has built themselves a solid reputation. Western Digital hasn't.

I think the build looks good as it stands, although I don't know anything about Powmax. I would be tempted to look for a more mainstream brand like Antec or Enermax.

Sorry, I didn't feel like researching the parts, so I didn't catch the weak PSU.

As for harddrives, everyone has their problems and stories about drives. People agree or disagree with me if they'd like. However, I had two Segate drives that died on me within a week. I also have one that's been great since around 2000.

Agreed. I had a seagate and WD that died on me, but I have a Seagate now and it's the best drive i've ever had.

Seagate built themselves a kickass rep with their SCSI drives. WD can't even get their entry line drives right. With a failure rate of over 30% (of a sample size of several hundred WD drives), they aren't exactly a drive you can depend on.

i have to admit, my WD is slower, but all the other WDs ive owned are great. Do you have a vendetta against certain companies? i just have to wonder.

Actually, like I have mentioned a few times, I used to be a Western Digital authorized reseller. I sold tons of them. I still service computers all the time that use them. I have a few here in my office. I never used to hate them until they started coming back. And coming back. And coming back. And I got more and more pissed. I go onto the internet and I read about them failing right, left and center. I go to one of my clients who was silly enough to use them in his server and already he has lost two of them. I told him to get rid of them because he has TONS of very sensitive data on them but he won't listen.

WD are very poor performers. They lag behind the competition. They puke when you put them under heavy load. They are infamous for their "click click click" sounds and wiping out the MFT arbitrarily. They are completely useless in servers where more than one person is logged in simultaneously.

The Caviar and Caviar SE lines are terrible. I dropped them. If you want a WD, you want either a Raptor or a Caviar RE.

I used to have a vendetta against AMD because they made some of the crappiest chips I have ever seen, but now they seem to have their act together so it's no big deal.
