OS Choice Menu

I recently re-formatted my HDD and also re-installed the Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. But now every time I boot up my computer, it will ask me which OS I want to boot from. It will have two Windows XP Professional options. Choosing the one on the top will cause the computer to boot normally. Choosing the one on the bottom will cause an error. How do I get rid of this OS choice menu?

When you reinstalled windows, you didn't delete the existing install/partition. You now have a parallel install of xp, which takes up disk space. You should reinstall windows again, but this time, make sure you delete exisiting partitions and then reparition.

I did delete everything when I installed it. When I checked my BIOS I only had that one partition. Right now I'm looking at my boot.ini but I'm not sure which of the two to delete.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

So which of these do I delete?

Well, obviously you didn't delete it or it wouldn't show up. On the boot.ini tab, click on the check all boot paths button, it should tell you if one is bad and delete that one.

I agree.

LoL how the hell did you see HDD partitions in the BIOS xD ???
You mean you saw the HDD in BIOS and NOT the partition(s)?
Because BIOS will show you only the HDD,but NOT it's partition(s).

In order to see and delete ALL the partitions, you must do it with XP setup disk.It looks like this:

By the way I hate pancakes. Not that it has anything to do with my reply xD Why I hate them so all of a sudden???...I have no idea...xD
