OS installing

Your post is very vague there. What do you mean the disclaimer scared you away? Did you run the test or not? The only way to back up your data would be to buy a new drive, install windows 7 then copy your data from that drive to the new drive.

I ran the test and it suggested I do the erase HDD. I've decided I don't really have anything important on my computer, but will it erase Win 7?

If you erase the drive it will erase the drive, so yes you will lose everything on the drive.

Ok so if I erase my current HD and use the BootCD to fix it, and install a new Win7 OS. Will I be able to install Win7 on a new HD if my current one is still bad after that?

Hi everyone,

I can't thank you all enough. I was able to get me a Win7 copy and load it up. It's like I got a brand new computer now. New question, I have a laptop with Win8, I hate it. Can I use the Win7 I got on a laptop, or do desktops and laptops use different OS software?

Thanks again!
