Os On Harddrive

ok would putting an old OS Windows Xp Home On a new costom built computer would it decrease the proformance and is it possible.

no it wont really do anything to performance..i guess the new one u have is windowsXP sp2 right ?

nah what i ment was get my hardrive my old one like really old with xp and put it in my new custom one i was wondering as its older would it slow down also is it acttually possible to copy the files

you will still have to reinstall windows if you dont there will be loads of errors
because the mobo in the old pc is diffrent to the one in the old pc

then find the CD for your old one, or get a new Windows, it will be very hard otherwise.

if you havent had a windows cd are you trying to use a recovery cd you got with the pc if so it wont work you will have to buy windows

no i have no means of recovery all im asking is it possible because i just i build in window hard drive i just place its in the new computer and it will have it

If you try using a hard drive with an OS already installed, in a new computer, most likely it wont boot correctly, or it will show decreased performance.
