Out of date drivers

I have a 7 month old Gateway FX6840/Intel Core i7 CPU/8GB/64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
For the last 3 months it sporadically gives me the BSOD :mad:!
I purchased DriverFinder and ran it hoping that could help me figure out what is causing my BSOD :mad:!
DriverFinder indicates that I have 13 "out of date drivers". I checked the version/version date that they are suggesting I download vs what I already have. For example: Intel(R)PCH SATA AHCI Controller current version is 10/13/09 and they say a newer version of 6/8/10 is available. Yet, when I download/install the version that they suggest I am still getting the older version when I check the driver's properties. I have contacted DriverFinder and have not heard back from them yet. I'm hoping that someone here can possibly help me out....tell me what I could be doing wrong.....and if I should take my computer somewhere and let a "pro" take care of it! :mad:

:o I actually went in there and (I am not an advanced computer user) .... I could not install the darn thing! I could download and then when I unzipped the folder there were no options to install!!! :confused:
I need help!

After unzipping if there is just a list of files, look down through them and see if one is a setup or exe. If not just direct the update from device manager to the unzipped folder.

But like said above, what is the BSOD? It could be quite a few things to make it blue screen other then a driver, unless it got corrupt some how.
 
Unfortunately, the first few times it happened I didn't know well enough to copy down the info. The time before last I copied down just the BC Code which was 0x0000001e
This last time (two days ago) I copied most of the #s

In general, drivers should be left alone, unless there is some particular problem.
Surely, the worst idea is to update drivers in bunches, using some miracle "driver finder/updater" scam.

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.
