I know my moniter can display 800X600 because i've played games that use it before. now all i get is an out of range warning and the screen goes blank! And just to make matters worse, I WAS TRING TO SEE WHAT IT COULDNT DISPLAY {caps lock) so I set the resolution th 800x600 and i got the same error. and it woldnt reset to the previous setting. Now when i turn on the computer, i see the dell boot screen and then the windows boot screen then ..... NOTHING:confused:
THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
If you waited 15sec's it should have reset, try useing a video card from another PC, or a PCI card for like 10$ to change back the settings then reboot regularly.

why do you want resaltuions so low anyways?
 
start it in safe mode to get it back if you haven't already done that. also, i think your refresh rate might be too high for the resolution that you have it set too
 
yup, i would say that your ref rate is too high, the monitor can cope witha high ref rate on a high resolution, because its easier to do, but on a smaller res a lower ref rate is easier.

So i can play games that are preset to 800x600.

i remotly accesed the computer and fixed the problem.
however I think I will need to reinstall the driver so it will display certin res.
