Out Of These Four Dual Cores, Which One Is Better

if im not mistaken isnt the 4600 suppose to be 2.4 GHz with 512Mb cache per core

so either they underclocked it or your getting a 4200 and not a 4600

C2d

My roommate has an Opty 165 Oc'd to 2.7 and my C2D E6600 stock @ 2.4 PWNS his comp. He has an Abit AN8 board and I have an Asus P5B Deluxe. I used to have a P4 then went to AMD 64 3200, and now to C2D. Couldn't be happier. Either way they are both great CPU's and you won't be letdown. Just C2D IMHO. C2D FTW!!! :D

It really comes down to whether the E6300 is worth the extra $100 over the X2 4600+. Where overclocking is not a consideration, I would say not.

What do you mean? The X2 4600+ is $232 and the E6300 is $183. Unless you mean the total difference between all the related components (mobo, ram, ect).

i think he was talking in the context of the rigs in question, for which the price delta is $100
