Ever since I started running Outlook 2010 from my ramdisk, the links in the emails do not work. The error message says"General Failure." How do I make them work again?

If you are talking about a usb flash drive as your "ram disk". You can't do that. You actually have to install the program to make things work correctly...

No, I am using par tof my computers ram as the ramdisk, not a usb drive. Do you think that installing outlook to the ramdisak rather than just copying the files over would make a difference even though the files would be deleted when the computer is shutdown and reloaded onto the drive at startup?

Outlook has to be installed to your system with registry entries created in order for outlook to work correctly.

So if I installed outlook to the ramdisk, that would create the correct files in the registry, and the link in outlook would continue to work even after I restart my computer, correct?

Why are you insisting on useing this "ramdisk"? Install outlook while inside your Operating System so that its installed on your "C" drive or whatever drive is assigned to windows. Thats the only way its gonna work correctly.

ramdisk

The reason I want to keep it on the ramdisk is because my ddr3 ram is 100 times faster than my hard drive. With Outlook on the ramdisk, it loads and operates much faster.

If you want Outlook to work the way its supposed to, you need to install it on the windows drive not your ram disk.

If I install it on the ramdisk, how would that be any different than installing it on my hard drive? The computer views the ramdisk just as a hard disk; it is drive R:\
