i have a small problem, you know that when you type in an email address for the fist time and send it off, outlook stores that address in the memory so when you enter the first letter of the previous recipient it will show automatically. now, all of a sudden all those address's that i had in memory have all vanished and cant find a solution why?

any ideas?

lately,

Has there been any changes to your computer or Outlook recently?

What OS are you running?

What version of Outlook do you have?

Are all of the addresses in your address book missing?

Is auto-complete turned off?
Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Advanced E-mail Options > Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields

Was the program obtained legally?

OS is XP Pro, Outlook is version 2003 SP3. all the address's in the address book are there. my problem is that all the address's that i have entered into the ( TO ) Bar have vanished. usually, once you send an email to someone outlook keeps it in memory and when you type in a letter, it will bring up all the names starting with that letter. those have gone. strange really.

The Names Autocomplete file is called "Outlook.NK2" and is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. You will have to ensure you tick "View System Files" before searching.

Before that look in your options and make sure Names Autocomplete is ticked as this file is not the same as your "Contacts". "Outlook.NK2" remembers every name typed and is independent from your contact list.
