Hi folks
i just installed a new mobo and cpu and in doing so I had to format my hard drive. before i formatted it i saved all of what i thaught was my important information onto another compter on my network. after installing windows xp home i want to import all of my contact information back into outlook express.
i originally saved it from my drive by going to outlook express folder and copying all of the files, then after the new format/install i copied and pasted all of the saved files back into the new outlook express folder but it didnt seem to work. can someone point me to the file that outlook saves all the contact info in so i can recover it?
please dont tell me i lost all of my contacts. that would be VERY bad.
thanks so much for the help everyone.

I believe your address book should be located in the folder: C:\Documents and Settings\"Your user Name"\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

If you did not copy the contents of that folder, Im sorry but I think your SOL...

You can change the destination folder which outlook express reads the messages and the address book from to be any folder, and consequently, you can change it to be the folder which you copied whatever the location of the folder is.

Just dig around into the outlook express and see there. I don't use outlook express, I use MS outlook, so I won't be able to give you detailed exact information about doing this, but I think some other guys out there can do.

okay guys, you saved the day again. thanks so much for the help i managed to recover everything i needed. once again, cant thank you guys enough, my business would have had a bit of a problem.
