Outlook Freezing

Outlook 2000-it opens fine but when clicking in preview pane or trying to open any message I get the hourglass, and it sticks for 3-4 minutes everytime. Virtually unusable like this. Have tried to run Inbox repair tool, but am not sure what file to scan. Tried turning off ETrust to no avail.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When running Outlook, do you have any other programs (apart from Anti-virus) running on your system , as these may take priorty.

It could be that the anti-virus is checking your email or you havea Trogan that is using your system as part of a bot-not (Stealing your bandwidth) and accessing your system.
