Outlook pst files

Had a pc failure and need to access my e mail from the hard drive. Have set it up on another pc as a slave but am unable to find any pst files. If I try to access the folder I think they are in then I get an access denied message.

I'm told that this is possibly because outlook was not shut down when my pc went pop and so the files are still flagged as active and so are not visible during a search.

Anyone with any ideas about how I can retrieve my outlook info

If your drive had Windows XP/NTFS file system on it, then its probably a permissions problem. You would have to right click on the folders you're having problems with, go to properties, go to permissions and add an EVERYONE group to which you give full permissions.

If the computer you are using is XP home, do this in safe mode. If not, then do it normally.

C:\Documents and Settings\Profiles\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data on computers with multiple users or C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook on computers with a single user.
