Which would be the better performer for gaming:
1. an X850 Platinum 256MB
2. Geforce 7600GS 512MB
Both pci-e.

Here the 7600GS get's less 3DMark05 points than my X800RX which is the same as a X800 Pro at stock settings. And look at the system they're using. But you might want to search for other reviews.

Oh and use the edit button next time.

Two reviews, Legit Reviews and HardwareZone.

OK the new test is between X800 GTO 512MB, Geforce 7300GT 512MB, and the X850 Platinum 256MB. I really really need to know the order from best to worst and by how much each one is better/worst from the others. Choosing my video card is gonna be crucial for my new computer build.

The X850 PE easily beats them all, next is the X800GTO, then the 7300GT.

how far behind is the x800 gto 512mb? cause my computer has the x850 but its having abnormal problems with overheating. so if the x800 is not that far behind im gonna get the new card instead of trying to fix the old which even if fixed will probably be problematic.

Are the only problems with your current card overheating related? Have you tried replaceing the stock heatsink/fan with a third party fan, as well as buying RAM sinks for it?

I don't anything about how to or where to buy the parts to do that. I don't think replacing the fan and heatsinks would be a good long term decision because unless I'm mistaken there is a deeper problem. I only say that because of the sudden occurance of the problem. And if I sell the card to somebody who does want to take a chance at having a good card I can fully pay for the new card with the money from selling the old one. But, if I try to fix this one and fail then not only am I out the money for the parts to try and fix it but I will know there is a deeper problem so I wont be able to sell the card.

but i dont really know about computer stuff so if you think i should change the heat sink and fan where do i buy the new stuff?
