Over clocked something. Not sure what it is though :P

Ok here is my problem ish. I just downloaded this ATI Tool. Anyway this is a slight clock I have done and it seems to be running smoothly. The thing is im guesing I have OC my graphics card. But are the temperatures given.

Card temperature and Case temperature
or
Processor temperature and case temperature

Also these temperatures look very hight from what I can tell. Is i safe to run at these temperatures? and whats the average. My processor is well look bellow at my sig.

Well this is what it did (and had only 1 error after 18min is that ok?)

i think the temps at the bottom are your core temps and system temp. i would be worried more about your system temp than anything else. is there anywhere else you can confirm your system temp?
if your system temp is that high and you bring the temp down with better cooling you should notice a sizeable drop in core temps

IS there any prgrammes that I can use to do this?. If so can you send me a link. And well im not into customizing my PC as I dont know how and it will void my £300 warranty :(. My fan is huge though it sounds like a helicopter, cant get much bigger lol.

Also on that overclock I have no bloody idea what I was doing, just raised them from

425.00 and 432.00
to
436.50 and 470.25

dunno what core and memory are, let alone what they do and what rasing them does lol. If that could also be expliained I would be greatfull lol.

maybe you need an intake fan and an exhaust fan.
try everest http://www.lavalys.com/
i personally use abit uGuru, you might have something similar that was bundled with your motherboard. also, a trip into the bios is always worth a shot, have a look out for something like health monitoring.

I got no idea about computers lol, I basicaly just do media stuff and games on them. A trip to bios for me is like exploring the amazon, I have no idea, how to get there, what to do when im there and yer.

ok then, if you really wanna try in the bios, you should look out for a message when your system is displaying how much ram it has etc. it normally reads something like press Del to enter setup. press the delete key, or whatever it asks you to. once your in your looking for health monitoring or something similar. its not that hard to find.

Erm if I do wrong thing can I bugger up my computer? and well I will just look for some free benchmarking tools. Sounds alot easier.

you can only mess something up if you change a setting, if you do think you have changed a setting you can always exit without saving changes. the first time i went into a bios i was playing around with settings and stopped my computer from booting, so then i had to find the clear CMOS jumper and reset the settings. computer worked fine afterwards. you're only gonna be looking for temps anyway

ok i have found out that. The realy hot temperature was the GPU temperature and the slightly cooler one on the right was the chip temperature. bearing in mind this is under heavy load, are these temperatures too high? And what are the limits such things should/could reach as a maximum before basicaly melting and breaking?

What was funny and probably very stupid, is that I overclocked the core to about650 :D. Fost of all the background on my computer went all funny then the computer totaly froze. So about then thought it would be best to switch it off at the mains lol.

while these temps wont break your system its still higher than i would feel comfortable with.
when you say the lower temperature was the chip temperature what do you mean, cos i would have said that the gpu was the chip

Give me 5 min and I will send a screen shot.

EDIT : Here we are

And can the GPU safely get up to 90degrees?

my 6600 used to, you might want to see what other people are getting on similar hardware cos i cant speak from experience.
im not sure what it means by temperature of the temp chip.

Ok I will Do (will change title of this thread to try and attract them lol)

EDIT: Ohh I cant change the name of the post so I may make a new thread. But wel my computer hasnt broken yet so I will leave it :)

Isnt it odd that ATI Tool wouldnt post the GPU temp but would post the CPU temp? (and that 81C is a bit hot for what id expect from 570)
