ok so im trying to get a little more power out of my old computer i have the X2 overclocked to 2.6 Ghz after 45 minutes of load testing it hit 55 degrees Celsius is that a safe temp should i be worried

No, 55C is fine. No need to be worried. What are your other components? You could probably get a 4000+ to 3GHz if you put your mind to it.

yes it is a after market cooler but its a fan-less model so its not really the best i ts in the direct path of a 80 mm fan though just re thermal pasted it..... as far as other components... 4 gig of ddr2 5300 ram G-skill 5-5-5-15-20 @ 1.80 volts and a 9400 gt clocked at core 601 Mhz shaders at 1529 and memory at 431 Mhz and its all on a cheap foxcon bored

id put a fan on the heatsink if possible...as you want to keep that thing as cool as possible as your clocking it also keep in mind you dont want to over speed your ram too far, or you will run into errors and bluescreens, so you may have to cut back the memory multiplier to get more speed out of it

yea ill try cutting back the multiplier i didnt think about that their is no way to attach a fan directly to the sink i can polish the bottom though and make a tunnel from my 80 mm front case fan directly to the processor which should do...
