I have a dell inspiron 2200 and my processor is a celeron at 1.4 ghz

How would I go about overclocking it as there is nothing in the bios

Umm... what Celeron is it? If it's a Pentium3 celeron (Katmai, Coppermine, Tualatin) chances are you can't OC it (crapz0rz), but thenagain I'm not even sure if there were any P3- based CPUs running at 1.4GHz. I would assume it's a P4/NetBurst-based Celeron... how old is the computer? If there are no OCing options in BIOS, software OCing tools would be your only option, while they aren't too good they get something done. I would get SysTools and CPUFSB/CPUcool, and also CPU-Z and CoreTemp to monitor the results...

you cant overclock dells at all unless you flash it with a hacled bios and youll probably brick your machine that way. not reccomended.

yea, don't bother.

overclocking can help a little but what type of operations do you do? just normal movie watching and some internet browsing? i'm sure any processor would suffice for such applications but you might want to invest in some more memory.
