Hey guys I was just wondering if anybody knows or has this processor and what they have safely overclocked it to. I have heard from various websites that the pentium 4 prescott processor overclocks well. Atm I am looking for better performance from my system until the time comes when i have to purchase a new machine.

The stock speed of fastest Prescotts ever released was 3.8GHz, I think you should get around 3.6GHz fairly easily, maybe even 4GHz+ or so if you have good cooling - those things ran hot, so the temps should be the only limiting factor, you could probably take that thing pretty high.

Yeah thats what i have heard i have a zalman heat sink and fan along with a 15 cm case fan currently the cpu temperature is around 33* which means I have alot of room in which to find the perfect overclock. Also Another question I wanted to ask was what do you guys recommend the maximum temperature for a 478 prescott processor would be.

Being 90nm, those things can take heat better than current CPUs, I'll say that you'll probably be safe with your load temps around 60 degrees, Idle temps should at around 45 degrees max.
