OverClock Questions

thank you arch
and thank you all lol

ill clock when i have experience

your asus mobo is the Intel counterpart of my motherboard ( basicly) and i didnt really have trouble overclocking it thb :) ( besides... if youre going for a aftermarket cooler... dont get Arctic silver 5,.. get Zalman ZM STG1 instead :) In prectical use its better than the AS5, because its applied easyer and way more accurate than the AS5 :)

Wrong. In this case, performance is the factor that matters. Not the ease of application. And no, STG1 (i have it on the comp i use to download stuff) only reduces temps by about 2-3* while AS5 does 5-7*. Ive seen it.

I used AS5 on my pc.. and the temps were 6*C higher as with the STG1 wich I use now.. i've seen it. I gues there will always be different oppinions about it,.. but I will stick to the STG1 since imo its better, and its way easyer to apply.

besides... easy application is THE thing that matters for someone who builds a pc for the first time imo.. since there is a much smaller chanse of the thermal paste not beeing applied propperly, wich would case a heated up system, reducing someones faith in the system greatly.
also... maybe you just need a bit more practice in nail polishing to apply the STG1 right... ;) :P
