3200+ @ 2.5 stock voltages
Hey all!
Today I had a chance to overclock a friend's Amd 3200+. His specs:
3200+
Abit Kn8 sli
1GB DDR400 (OCZ, I think)
6800XT (not my recommendation)
a pathetic power supply ( 15A on the 12V
)
So, I worked with it, and got it up to 2.3 Ghz without any memory changes, then lowered the ram all the way and got to 2.6 Ghz. Then I put the memory to 333mhz (DDR432) and ran prime. I will have to lower it to 2.5 probably before it is stable, but still, 2.5Ghz on stock voltages. In a few months I'll try again and up the voltages a little, (along with better cooling) we'll see what is the limitation. Sadly, the multiplier is 10X or lower, so I have to only raise the FSB. More later...
