Overclockign estimations

i have an Intel E4700

by using CPUcalc 1.9.6 it thinks my cpu will hit 3.003Ghz at 231 FSB

i have had it running at 2.75Ghz today, nice and stable, just to test if overcloking would work

how far do you think i can overclock it to, and keep it stable??

How do you know it's stable?

Have you run any stress tests for any length of time?

An unstable overclock can work fine for a while, but when
you pour the coals to it, they may fail.

very true. Google orthos and use that to test your overclocking.

Too true, had my AMD 2.2ghz machine running at 3.0Ghz, thought it was stable and then BAM, when it got under load or ran a bit warmer it crashed over and over!!

to test stability i usually run Prime95, keeping my cpu at 100% usage for a little while and see if it crashes and watch the tempreatures
