I was wondering if any of you that have either an asus board with a amd 64 skt 939 proc or have the A8N-E board could walk me through how to OC the processor. I was thinking to about 2.6-8 ghz with this chip/mobo but if any of you think it is too please tell me so I dont fry my chip.

I have this cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106038) and I used arctic silver ceramique paste.

Here are the specs of the mobo:

and the manual in .pdf:

The best thing I can say, since not all BIOS and CPUs are the same, is make sure you do your research first (read OC101, and look for other source, and even books couldn't hurt ;) ), make sure you understand all the concepts, and explore your BIOS so you can see what can be set or not. Then when your certain of what you need to do, be sure to take your time.

I've oc'ed before and Ive read several guides on oc'ing amd 64's but none of them make any sense. In addition the mobo manual did a pretty crappy job of explaining the basics of the bios so Im not totally sure where to begin looking in the bios. I just hoped someone might know how to do it from experience.

I have an ASUS A8V-E, for me the frequencies (for setting the HT, multipliyer and stuff) are in a section called "Jumperfree configuration" and not in CPU like I first though when I got my PC way back when. I donno if it's the same for you, so like I said before explore around in BIOS and you'll probably find what you need. If you still can't figure out the BIOS post here again, and I'm sure someone will show up that happens to have the same MOBO than you. good luck
