Overclocking a Q9450

Anyone do it yet? Anyone have any bad experiences?

I am looking for a 3.5ghz chip, but not sure what I should set my vcore too. Once I take it off auto, I get a little confused as too where to place my voltage. I think it's an 8x multiplier. So i'd set it at 438 on the FSB, just confused Vcore!

lovely?

go into your bios and read what the current voltage is under something like the 'fan settings' or 'hardware monitoring' tab and check what voltage it is currently at. do not use a program in windows as Vdroop will screw up the voltages.

then if your having stability problems just increase the voltage by one increment, untill it is stable by a program like orthos or prime95

I have mine clocked at 3.4 without changing any voltages except for setting my voltage for my ram . It's been running stable and no problems.

45nm q9450 should not exceed 1.35v, 1.3 to be safe. like the other guy said, stable voltage is enough.

Staying under 1.35v would be fine. If you can't get the clocks you want there (after testing all other settings like NB, VTT, etc.), just leave it alone and find the sweet spot between clocks/voltage.
