Overclocking AMD Phenom ii x4 960T?

I have had the necessities for overclocking months ago, but have always been kind of afraid to OC and I really, don't know where to even start. I have a 212 evo hyper aftermarket fan.
I heard that the 960t has a chance to be a x6 but I can confirm mine does not have the extra 2 cores.

PSU: Corsair 750m
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A ud3p
GPU: Radeon R9

You should be able to bump the multiplier a couple clicks as a starting point.

They're physically on the CPU, did they simply not unlock when you enabled ACC or did the system refuse to POST?
When I was told to go into the bios to unlock the extra cores I recall that nothing changed when I attempted to unlock them.
EDIT: From a very old post of mine "I have in the bios but the other cores do not appear in the bios its as if nothing change as in I unlock but the cores stay as 0 1 2 3. "

Extra cores should unlock. If they are defective, stability issues will happen. Generally this way. You also remembered to press CTRL+F1 on BIOS to get more options?
