Overclocking an ASUS EN7600GS 256MB video card

Using the ASUS utility, I've got the GPU to 440MHz, and the memory to 860MHz. I don't see an increase in fps. Any suggestions as to what I could do? I'm tired of playing Rainbow Six at 22ish fps.

I haven't used the asus OC utility but i have Coolbits and Ntune. Try downloading one of those and see if you can get any farther.

Further the test that checks if the clocks are stable isn't reliable (at least with me) Try going even further just watch out for major artifacting.

Edit: Ocing won't give you a major FPS boost, consider a 7600gt or 7900gs if you're on a budget.

If that particular OC won't give me much of an fps boost, then what will? There are so many variables, and I am still learning. :^(

Overclocking a video card is much simpler than overclocking A CPU, Raising the Core clock, Memory clock and giving it a volt modification are the most you can do.

Since games are Very GPU dependent there isn't much you can do with the rest of your hardware in respect to gaining extra performance, Upgrading your video card drivers may give you an extra 2fps, but that would only Impact someone using an older driver version.

All that crap said the best I recommend is to upgrade the card, or to learn to live with it :D

Well, first to go is my current CPU, which is a serious bottleneck. Maybe next year I'll look at a vid card. I suppose I can live with it for now.
