overclocking an intel d850gb mobo

Is it possible to overclock a P4 1.90 Ghz processor with an intel d850gb mobo? i've read in several places that it is not possible.

You can overclock anything on any motherboard. Some have better overclocking supports, some have one of the best.

well, i got it from a friend but i'm nearly certain it's OEM.

both the mobo and CPU r made by Intel

ohhhhhhh, lol, yeah, it's a Gateway.

ONly way would be through windows, try clockgen. for starters.

ok well that is not good news, you can't overclock with OEM machines.
You could use some downloaded software to do the overclock, however most peopel advise not to do it.
If you plan on using the overclock software anyway make sure you get some recommendations on which software to use. I personally have no experience so you will need someone else.

ok, well i haven't been able to overclock it with any software so far, so i might as well give it up. i've tried all i can think of- BIOS, clockgen, intel, 3rd party software... nothing. oh well. thanks for the suggestions though. i'll make sure to do it on my first build.
