How do you tell what you can overclock a video card to without it getting ruined? I have a GeForce FX 5900 XT video card and i'm wondering what i can overclock it to without it harming anything...Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Well, every overclock is individual. But you could download CoolBits but before that you should make sure you have the latest drivers from nVidia. I don't know if the FX5900XT has a built in temperature sensor but it would be good to see what the temps are. Just watch out for artifacts in games and 3D applications. Up the clocks by 5MHz and then test in 3D intensive games. Then when you start to see artifacts, you'll know when it doesn't look right :P, then you should decrease the settings to the latest stable and fully functional setting. And if you can I suggest getting an extra fan to either blow cold air towards/on the card or an extra fan to suck out the hot air out of the case, perhaps near the card.

For checking for artifacts, I really do recommend ATITool. Although it's designed for ATI graphics cards, the artifact detection tool works for nVidia cards as well, and is a much quicker and better way to detect artifacts than just using your eye.

The "Detect Optimal Frequencies" function will allow you to get an idea of how far you'll be able to push it, but so long as you are careful you'll be getting artifacts long before you irrepairably damage any components.
