Overclocking E6750

Hi guys, Just got a new build and as you know the E6750 dual core is rated at 2.66GHz running at 28* celcius idle and 32* under normal load.

My bios allows me to overclock in 5% steps and I have given it 10% to 2.926 GHz running at 33* idle and 35* normal load.

Do you reckon I can go more with stock cooling. Thanks

Yes i think so but you shouldnt use the automatic % overclock options in your BIOS you should do it yourself

Why should that be? I would have thought the settings would have been optimised for the best. Anyways it seems that I have no way of getting at the individual settings needed

Edit: I just want to break the 3GHz barrier so I'll up it 5% more

Just upped it to over 3GHz and still cool with the fan not running any faster

I will do, googling the processor it says it's good up to 70* celcius

Of course it's best to keep it well under that.
