Overclocking GA-EP43-UD3L

I'd like to tap into all this expertise if possible to help me with my new setup. I'm using the Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L with a Quad 9400 & 2 Gb of Corsair DDR2 800. The processor runs nominally at 2666 mhz.
I bought this RAM believing I'd be able to overclock my CPU up to about 3.0 Ghz.
I'm a complete novice at this (obviously) and although the system is running OK-ish, I'd appreciate any advice from someone with experience (especially with this board) on how to safely achieve that sort of increase.

More info available if needed.

(I'm living proof that there's nothing so dangerous as a gifted amateur !)

have you alreadly oc'ed the system? if so you want to be checking on cpu temps and probably download something like prime95 to stress test the machine to confirm it is stable.
overclocking can be a bit of trial and error and i can take a while to get a stable and good overclock, just be careful, especially whn it comes to changing the voltage the mobo is meant to be good for overclocking reaching good speeds some on the 4ghz mark (it was a dual core) on air cooling, but dont jump up that high straight away

I've used Gigabyte's EasyTune 6. It has pushed the FSB to 1563 Mhz, bus speed 390, multiplier of 6. CPU is at 28 degrees, system is at 35 degrees. Shows 3.2 Ghz at POST. CPU voltages - 1.2V termination, 1.28 V core. Seems stable at present.

It's not stable until you stress test it--I can run 4.6Ghz in windows, but as soon as I do anything, it locks up.

If you want to be sure, download OCCT or Intel Burn Test to test it.
