Overclocking Geforce4 MX 440

Hey, I am about to overclock my old Geforce4 MX 440, and I was wondering what a safe temperature range would be for it. Thanks!

if it doesnt have a fan already, and you plan on OCing it, put a fan on it..

80 core is absolute max temp
card should be no higher than 45-50

any higher could damage your card

dont buy a fan for that card.... its not worth it, you could get an extra card for that much

you could ziptie a 40-80mm fan on it and see how it goes tho lol

By the way, what porgram should I use to monitor the GPU? I tried Everest, but it is confusing.

I wouldnt reccomend OCing an MX in the first place, but use RivaTuner or something similar.

i have tried oc my mx400 (dont know the brand and has a fan) before too...i used the rivatuner software

my default core clock 200 and memory clock 286, i oc the core clock to 240 and memory clock to 340....i played online game for a while and it worked fine. however, the performance wasn't increased that much. i run 3d mark 2001 SE and it scored about 300 points more...

but sorry...i havent looked at temperature really so cannot tell you

I guess it behooves me to check if there is a fan. Then, I guess I will OC a little.
