Has anybody gotten any luck overclocking their HP/Compaq/Dell? My BIOS is locked. Is there any way I can get around this without buying a new mobo?
Those are for video cards, and I would bet that the Asus program is only for Asus motherboards.you can use nvidia's ntune or ati's radlinker
also asus has overclocking software that you can get from their website.
other then that i'm not sure of the programs out there
There are some programs out there that let you overclock inside of Windows, so it's only temporary. I don't remember the name of them though.
That's only if you have an nVidia-based chipset.i know you can OC the cpu, ram, and gfx card from ntune
but your probably right about the asus software
I haven't done a whole lot either, however AMD (ATI) software only works with an AMD CPU, if you have an Intel-based motherboard and Intel processor then I don't believe either ATI or nVidia's offerings work for overclocking a processor.yeah obviously, but ati has similar software.
idk im not really familiar with oc'ing from the OS
