see my sig for specs and im trying to overclock it, i got the retail cpu cooler only but ive got 6 120mm case fans and ive got both cores from standard 2.2ghz up to 2.4ghz which i think is pathetic, how can i really overclock it lets say to at least 3.2ghz or even to 2.9ghz

when i go in my bios theres these settings

HT frequency ratio - 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x all the way to 5x

CPU frequency - its from 200 to 400mhz so far ive set it to 215mhz

K8 CPU Clock ratio - x5, x5.5, x6, x6.5 all the way to x8

also theres the psu voltage but i really dont want to mess with that as people say it may fry your proc

ive set my multiplier to 221 mhz and thats got me to 2.43ghz and when i up the HT freq i see no chance and when i up the K8 cpu clock ratio to x7.5 i dont see my cores getting faster

Raising your HT is not going to get a performance gain. Raising your bus ups your HT and memory anyway. The HT on a 939 doesnt really like to be overclocked. You best bet is to lower your HT to keep it at or below 1000/2000. Then lower your memory from 400 to 333. Unless you want to raise your memory voltage and fool with the timing.

The simplest way for you would be lower your HT to keep it in spec. And lower your memory to 333. Then start bumping up your bus till it gets unstable, then either back it off some or bump up you CPU voltage.

As you raise your bus the HT and memory will start getting back up to it default speed.

I would set the HT to X4 and set the memory to 333. Set the CPU X to 11, pretty sure thats right for a 4200, its 2.2ghz isnt it?.

Then start bumping up your CPU bus. When it gets unstable back it off a few mhz. If you want to get higher bump your CPU voltage, small jumps at first. Just keep a eye on your CPU temps.

i set the HT freq to2.5x, the K8 cpu core clock ratio to x7.5 and the cpu freq to 221 mhz and all i get is 2.4ghz from the 2.2ghz stock speed, thats not alot, is it? also i tried bumping up the voltage, i cant even bump it to 0.875 without a bluescreen appearing straight adfter i reboot

Something is not right there.
You should have your HT set to X4. That would put it at 800/1600

2.5 bumps it down to far. It can run at 1000/2000, setting it at 2.5 puts it down to 500/1000.

Next your CPU Multi should be at 11, not 7.5
Stock its 2.2 GHZ. So 11X200=2200.

Set your HT multi to X4. Then set your CPU multi to 11. Then set your memory to 333. Set your Memory and HT and CPU voltage to auto.

After that start raising your CPU freq/bus from 200.

When you get to the point of it being unstable, just take the CPU voltage off Auto. Pretty sure the default voltage for that CPU is 1.30/1.35V. Try bumping it to 1.375. Dont think I would go over 1.40 with a stock heatsink.
