Overclocking my 5200+

^true that, prime95 IMO is better than orthos because of all the extra options that it offers...

Can anyone offer me some insight on what the BSOD's mean?

Okay, I have a nice, perfectly stable OC at 3GHz.
Sits at 45C at full load.

But when I try to get 3.1GHz, which is a 7MHz FSB difference, or even only make a 2MHz FSB change, is when I start running into issues. During Prime 95, I get BSODs such as "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or "PAGE_FAULT_IN_UNPAGED_AREA."
What could be the causes? As I said, I'm not much of an overclocker, but I upped the voltage to +0.012v, which yielded the same errors.

I would up the voltage a little farther. What is your voltage at right now.

I set it back to stock, because it's stable like that at 3GHz, which is what I have it at now. I'll up the voltage one more level and see what happens.

I would wait for an aftermarket cooler, But raising the voltage will most likely slove that problem.

I have mine @ 3.024ghz stable, But i had to lower the dram freq. So i put it down from 800mhz to 667mhz, But in my case i am upping the FSB only so it boosts my ram up as well, so i am basically @ stock ram speeds...
Try lowering the ram freq.
BTW: and what do you have you ram timings set at?

Okay, I thought I had a stable overclock, 4 minutes into Orthos comes with Fatal ERROR.
Umm, my RAM timings are at 5-5-5-18.
Yeah I'm going to wait for an aftermarket cooler cause I'm hitting about 57*C at full load.

mk, timings look good, I had mine @ 6-6-6-18, just for the heck of it, and it did faily well, i now have it at 2.980 now and 6-5-5-18, so i can be really stable.

ehh, what is your cpu temp? Not the individual cores, but the CPU temps? I personaly try to keep my 5200 under 50 *C, which is impossible, cuz under 100% load, I get 52.... really, i don't recommened pushing it to 60 *C, you are just shortening your CPU life. Do you plan on selling it once you get your pheno,? if not, then how long till you get your phenom? If its soon, you could just see how high you get get it with out hitting the max :P

Okay I'll try that later.

Elimin8or: So far, the only program I've found only shows the individual core temps. Got any program that shows the CPU temps themselves? And I'll be getting the Phenom in a couple of months.
