Overclocking & My celeron?

Alright so i don't have this clear image in my mind but overclocking means additional CPU speed than its supposed to have rite?.. Anyways i remember testing my CPU performance with that WIZARD SOFT cpu performance test program and it showed 19XX MHZ ( its 2000 mhz/2.0ghz celeron ) .. is this has something 'bad' to do?
 
Yes read OC101 throughly. It's alright for a program like that WIZARD SOFT to say your CPU is running a few MHz off of what it's meant to run at.

Start with the basics and core and memory speeds. In other words the first few sections. After that it goes in to how to actually go about overclocking.
 
Ya but no processor runs exactly at the speed they say it does. For example my 3700+ san diego, its default speed is 2.2GHz, but it would always run just a little over at more like 2.203 or something. If you can see it in some programs as well you can actually see it changing constantly. It really is just meant to stay in a certain range, right around the frequency the manufacturers set it at.

Thats due to the motherboard, not the CPU itself.
 
damn! a dead topic..

right i'll like to add that in WINDOWS ME my comp properties and in WIN XP directx 9.0c info .. instead of 256mb , it shows up 254mb for my ram..
