Overclocking my CPU

I have a AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+

I would like to overclock it untill I can get enough money for my new computer build, how would I go about doing this

Note: I am aware of the possible damage of my cpu doing this.

as far as i know, the last amd processor that had an adjustable front side bus and multiplier was the thunderbird.

the newer processors require special motherboards, that allow the voltage to be raised above the preset values, unless there's a cracked or 3rd party bios for your mobo, which is a crapshoot unless you built the pc yourself.

Actually the FSB is adjustable on pretty much all motherboards, and AMD's FX line of processors have unlocked multipliers. And most motherboards nowadays have the option to raise the vcore without need for modification.

No, virtually all motherboards besides pre-builts allow you to chance the bus, FSB/HTT, RAM, and most of them allow you to change the voltages.

Wow. No.

Did you build this computer yourself, or is it a prebuilt?

What motherboard do you have? And dont listen to heyman, i dont think he knows what he is talking about.

Ok How do I *Actually* Go About OCing? Gimme the steps please!
Since there are hundreds of board models out there each with its own appraoch to setting clocks and menus and such, there isnt really a be-all-end-all approach to providing a step-by-step method. Generically speaking however the idea is "go into your BIOS, make sure all the controls (clock speeds, voltages etc) are set to manual and then actually go about setting them to the desired speeds". You'll have to have a look at your manual to see how to actually go about doing this.

I dont have a manual and I dont know how to get into my BIOS what steps do I take? how EXACTLY do I do this?

It varies but you should be able to get into the BIOS by;

1. restart the computer.
2. press the delete key, F8 or F10 repeatedly in tell the BIOS load.

You can go through the menus, and you should look for FSB or Front Side Bus. And if you're gonna increase the FSB by more than 20MHz change the HTT multiplier from (most probably) 5x to 4x. Or if there's a value between those which I kind of doubt that there'll be one.
