Because CPUs dont have timingsI never heard of a program that can modify CPU timings
actually, in my experience i can get a higher overclock in Windows than in BIOS. I would use ClockGen, its a great program.34erd said:Because CPUs dont have timings![]()
Clcock-gen is pretty good, but overclocking in windows usualy doesnt gain higher clockspeeds. In fact usualy your overclock will be worse.

ClockGen doesnt support the motherboards that are in Dell's, so you wouldnt be able to use it. But with ClockGen, it only stays at that speed during that session. If you restart it goes back to default.ckfordy said:if i use that to overclock my dell would the overclock stay even if i restarted my computer or would it reset back to the stock speeds.
Well when you download clockgen, you need to select your model of motherboard. If you get the wrong one, it would either say its incompatible, or in your case, it will try and set it but crash it.kobaj said:My machine is a big brand type like dells (its an e-machine) and the clock-gen recognized my mobo and I could change my clocks. But once I hit apply my computer froze completly and my monitor shut off, so be careful.
EDIT: Ok now I would like to know why it freazes. Sorry about jacking the thread.
what motherboard did you select? And this is for your Dell right?kobaj said:The thing is, I have selected the correct motherboard/ppl.
