I am looking for a free program that i can overclock my computer from windows. I have already overclocked it as high as it will go in bios but i want to go higher.

I never heard of a program that can modify CPU timings
Because CPUs dont have timings :)

Clcock-gen is pretty good, but overclocking in windows usualy doesnt gain higher clockspeeds. In fact usualy your overclock will be worse.

actually, in my experience i can get a higher overclock in Windows than in BIOS. I would use ClockGen, its a great program.

ClockGen doesnt support the motherboards that are in Dell's, so you wouldnt be able to use it. But with ClockGen, it only stays at that speed during that session. If you restart it goes back to default.

My machine is a big brand type like dells (its an e-machine) and the clock-gen recognized my mobo and I could change my clocks. But once I hit apply my computer froze completly and my monitor shut off, so be careful.

EDIT: Ok now I would like to know why it freazes. Sorry about jacking the thread.

Well when you download clockgen, you need to select your model of motherboard. If you get the wrong one, it would either say its incompatible, or in your case, it will try and set it but crash it.

I have some intel motheboard with the ics 9502. Anywho, thanks for your help but I figured it out. In clockgen I set the ppl as ics 950403. It could read my clocks and what not but it wasnt over clocking because I had cpu-z open. I closed cpu-Z and now I can overclock. Started at 2.5 and am now happily stress testing at 2.7ghz. Thanks again.
