im trying to overclock my amd 64 3800, i can get it to 2.55 stable, but when i go to 2.7 it acts stable untill i play a game, then freezes, i cant overclock in bios, all i have in bios is and mhz option for my cpu freq, it goes from 200.00 to 300.00 do i need to up that freq in bios at all to be able to overclock in windows, i have a windows program that came with my mobo called easytune5.

1st what type off RAM do you have, if its PC 3200 you`ll have too set a divider and you`ll also have to up the voltage ! But be carefull while doing so. I would stick to the BIOS for overclocking, windows based OC`in tools can crash and thats not good.

one of the biggest stability issues with be hypertransport. over 200 fsb you need to set a 4x multiplier for hypertransport and over 250fsb you need to set a 3x multiplier.
memory dividers might help too.
also, if it isn't stable after you do those, then you can just add some cpu voltage.
