overclocking X800XT to PE

The only difference is that the XT PE is clocked at 520/1120, where as the XT is clocked at 500/1000.

You should be able to easily reach those speeds with your card.

Actually the Xt is clocked at 520/1080:P

Anyways, yea can OC it to PE just fine. I have the x850xt also and i can easily go past PE speeds.

what speeds should i clock my card to, i dont want it over heating on the normal fan its got on it, should i put a different fan on it? so how far can i take this card without doing damage?

thanks

Just keep an eye on the temperature. Or you can use the find max OC thing. You can get a new hsf for it, as it'll help cool it down, but i dont think it's really worth it as you won't get that much out of just OCing.

You should be able to gain a little bit of performance boost, but do keep in mind that when you OC, you usually void the warranty. As to how high you can go, every card is different. Just push it a little at a time, keep an eye on the temperature, and run an artifact check every now and then.

They should be 520/560 or as some would write it, 520\1120.

And about the temps, my X800RX goes to 575/520 and idles at 39°C and full load is max around 60°C. So you should look at keeping the temps around 40-45°C idle and 55-65°C. But it depends on what your temps are right now.

Nobody can tell exactly, you'll just have to keep an eye on the temps and remember to check for artifacts with ATI Tray Tools.

Ok, i have the exact card as you do. First, you need to change your fan speeds. Download ati tool tray.Ati Tool tray. Install it and right click on the tray icon and select Hardware>>Overclocking. You should change your fan speeds. You can do this via the Fan tab. Change the fan speeds so it looks like this:
Tempature | Fan Speed
0___________5
50__________18
55__________32
60__________51
65__________50
70__________100
80__________100
90__________100
This just changes the fan speed so your card runs at a lower tempature and can OC more. Now check the "include in profile" box, and press the save as and save it(doesnt matter what you name it). Now you can procide in OCing. I got mine to 560/600 stable. Just make sure that when you OC your card, the fan speeds are set at what i posted.

The main thing to look at when overclocking your GPU is not the temperature, but if you are receiving artifacts. Since if you just keep raising the speed(s), you will be able to get extremely high, but once you run a 3D app it will crash.

So the best thing to do is download ATI Tool, click on the "Scan for Artifacts" button, then start increasing the speeds in 5Mhz increments or so.

Now once you hear beeps, or see yellow spots on the left display, lower the speeds down by 5-10Mhz, and then let it scan for at least 15 minutes to make sure it's stable, and that the temps are fine.
