overclocking

ok this is alot harder then i thought i have a bunch of fans and i even up graded the fan on my processor i have a Intel Pentium 3 i know its not the best but it works lol but i have every thing ready for overclocking i just dont know how to ive tried overclocking it from the bios and it kept resetting itself and i tried the program riva tuner and i couldn't figure out how to use it so can some one help me pleas

Is it really worth OC'ing a PIII ?
 
You need to be more specific, what kind of motherboard do you have, what kind of cooling do you have. And what do you mean it keeps resetting itself are you sure that you're saving the configuration when you exit the bios?
 
AFAIK all Pentium 3s were multiplier locked, which means that you can't OC them by changing the multiplier. I tried it once, even though I could set the multiplier to pretty much anything it wouldn't run at that speed. You need to change your FSB frequency, by the sounds of it the board it pretty old so you'll probably need to set some jumpers, though most P3 board only support 133MHz FSB which means that you can't OC - unless your FSB CAN go higher.

Oh and you can't use Rivatuner to OC your CPU, it's for video cards.
