overclocking?

If you don't want to read then how are you going to learn? Yes, you can use a program but your settings will be reset when you shutdown your computer. I think a majority of overclocking is done through the bios.

4. How to overclock

In a nutshell, you overclock in the BIOS or within windows by raising the FSB.

But you can get alot more detailed insformation in that link posted above.

You cant overclock a laptop. One, the manufacturers lock it so there arent any options in the BIOS, and some mfg's somehow lock the clockspeed, so if you try to overclock it 1Mhz within Windows, the pc crashes.

ok so if I was able to over clock not Im my laptop Im just talking in general how woul I check for stability and if Ive gone to far?

there are some programs to help that, i forgot the names of those programs though.,...

or even some simple cpu tests like, 3d Mark (05) shows you how far you have overclocked your cpu...
this program not only tests your cpu/video card, but allows you to see the clock speed of your cpu it is running at.
