Overheat shutdown?

Howdy!
i was wondering if any of you overclockers or anyone else has came arcross a program that shuts down your computer when it gets to s certian temperature? i'm going to have my tivo box up and running 24/7 pretty soon and i dont want to burn my house down or anything...

its an AMD Duron 800 (overclocked)with a ECS K7VTA3 mobo
 
your motherboard should have a "CPU shutdown Temp" and you set the temp you would like it to shutdown at. It should be located in the BIOS under "PC Health Status" page.

SpeedFan can warn you when you CPU gets too hot. But i don not think it will totally shutdown your computer.
 
smart guardian will alert you when it gets too hot. your best bet is to just set temps in manually in the bios like 4w4 said. I would make it shut down past 49*C.

also if your worried about heat, get better cooling a Great fan only cost about 10 dollars. the best heat sinks are under 50.00
 
Well Thats wierd because i got told u cant OC Durons well i tried to do my duron 650 and it wouldnt boot it would even Go past on self test so i needed to reset Bios and it was ok

Dunno if that board has it (or if id even trust it to work)

I would make it shut down past 49*C.

i've never personally used it on any mobo that had that feature lol, buut it's usually there. i'd feel safer with an aftermarket software to protect it, and that's kind of sad :confused:

Your ABit board had it. Furthemore, its implemented in hardware so i dont think (without hacking) you can turn it off

it's got enable/disable option, i try to disable as much crap as i can in BIOS.
