so i was on the computer yesterday when all of the sudden i started to smell a burning smell. so i panicked and shut of my computer and opened it up. i narrowed the smell down to my video card and there was like a hair in the fan and it was a little dusty. so i blew it out but the fan seemed like it took a bit to turn. after i turned it back on i think i saw it was around 79c. but now is around 59 regularly. should i check anything to make sure there is no permanant damage?
thanx for the help

Either or, 79c is within the specs for a graphics card. GPU's don't usually warn the user and shutdown until 100c, 90c is when you start getting worried.

79c is warm, but it's nothing to be alarmed about.

I disagree, you should be alarmed if your card runs that hot.

On newer cards, it's not something to be alarmed about. Personally, I wouldn't want my card running there, but a lot of new cards do run in the 70's with no problems. It's not out of the ordinary for a GPU to run at those temps.

^espeseily if there is bad airflow in the case, but about 85c i would try to figure out whats up, because if the card was originally low in temps and is getting hotter, something is up...But your fine, if the card idled @ that temp, you should be worried :)
