overkill or no?

not sure this might be overkill for mid range games like DIablo: LOd, Joint ops, Civ 3, and Guild Wars.

Cpu: Athlon 64 3800+

Mobo: eVGA nForce-4 SLI Chipset Dual DDR w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Dual PCI-E MB

Vid Card: Nvidia Geforce 7900 gt 256mb

and everything else is fine, im not sure if the vid card is too much, maybe i should go with Athlon 3500+. Im def waiting till after the price drop.
 
that's way overboard for those games. you could play those on an old celeron box. but you will be happy with that computer for a while if that is all you play. so future proof for you.

Then i would deffiantly get the 7600GT it will work well with those games. or you can go with the ati X1900GT or XT if you want to get a high end card cause the 7900 series is having problems with there cards right now.
 
Overkill for those games. But by getting that stuff you can now play BF2, HL2, CS:S, and a ton of high end games!!!
 
lithium, cash is really limited right now, im gonna be ebaying stuff to get the money for it lol, so im trying to get the bare minimum i can for best performance
