Hello,
I need some help in regards to wiping data from a laptop HDD.The problem is the laptop is still in warranty and the shop wants the broken HDD in order to give me a new replacement.
What I want is to securely erase the data on the failed HDD. I tried many programs that are used for that purpose ( DBAN,Killdisk, etc.) but none of them works when the disk is broken. My idea was to try to format the hdd and then put new data and do the same process a few more times. Is this going to do any good? ( even after reading a lot of info about HDDs I am still not sure how they actually work...
) I would be glad if people who are sure about this topic answer the question.
Thanks a lot
