I am soon going to create my own network using PHP, which would be the best hosting site, how do I know that the hosting company and plans support advance PHP?
If my social network grows big, then will I be able to host it on my own clustures of computers? How?:)

Mep is stating that if you're intending to do this "for fun" or to "make money", you'll get way too stressed and simple produce something that is already available. Such as myspace, facebook, etc.

However, if you're intending to make this social network to hone your php skills and learn about web development, I feel its a really good idea. Best of luck to your endeavors.

Frankly, to answer your first question. I wouldn't worry about hosting at this moment. Work on the actual site/code, use your own home server to test. And when you have a functioning social network, THEN go looking for official hosts.
