P3 1ghz compatibility

i have this motherboard that used to have an intel 667mhz, and i need to insert it with a p3 1ghz processor. the processor fits fine on the board (socket 370) but it only beeps when turned on. why is this?

You may bot have the right type of RAM in there... I think it's PC100, but you;d haev to check that...

i have 3x 128mb pc133 on the board, the 1ghz is in good condition as well as the board.
