Are P35 chipset boards natively compatible with 45nm CPU technology? I heard that in order for someone to run this setup, a BIOS flash with another processor is required. Is this true?

Thanks

well, yes, but this is not always the case. in some cases, the boards support 45nm cpu's right out of the box.

Yes. At this time, I don't think you'd need to flash the BIOS. They most likely will come 45nm ready. :)

yeah mine come 45nm ready,i cant remember up to what quad core mine supports with its current Bios but i looked on Msi,s website some time back and there are alot of bios updates for newer 45nm cpus.

quad cores, all but the newest models probably need a bios flash. dual cores, there are few, if any on the market that need flashes now.

These days, probably every P35. Maybe even the P31s! Mine advertised 45nm compatibility on the box when I got it in January!

The P35's need a BIOS update to support the 45nm CPU's, they did not originally come with support. However if you buy one now or recently buy one, then chances are they have a BIOS version that supports them.
