Ok 3.4GHz "WHAT"? Now if you're looking at a Northwood 3.4 or a Pentium4 550 then its generally ok. Now if you're getting a Prescott 3.4GHz (different from the Pentium4 550) then yer in for some serious heat issues (assuming there was a S478 Prescott at 3.4Ghz)My friend went to buy a computer today and he asked about p4 3.4 Ghz and the guy told him it is a shit processor becuase it over heats. is this true. why would intel put it out if it was crap??
Some AMDs give off less heat, some give craploads more. As for 3.4GHz being "fine" it depends on the actual product in mindI think AMD's give off less heat, but the P4 3.4Ghz should be fine- especially if its not getting overclocked
Not quite, a 530 comes in at 3GHz, he's got a 540Pentium4 3.20GHz but rather a Pentium4 530
