P4 3Ghz Equivalent

I´d like to know the directly AMD equivalent of the P4 3Ghz...and if you think it´s going to be different on the 64-bits system. Thanks!
 
The 6XX isn't slower than the 5XX series, it actually ends up being a tiny bit faster in most cases. The cache is 'slower' for sure but generally the 6XXs perform a bit better.
 
It's cache has higher latencies so it takes a bit longer to access it, but for a few applications it's big enough that it holds enough to make up for it by not having to goto system RAM as often
